WHAT WAS THE FASTEST LAP AT THE TT

The fastest lap ever recorded at the Isle of Man TT Races was set by Peter Hickman on June 9, 2023. 

Riding a BMW M1000RR during the Superstock TT race, Hickman completed the 37.73-mile Mountain Course in 16m36.115s, achieving an average speed of 136.358 mph. 

This lap not only established a new Superstock class record but also stands as the outright fastest lap in the history of the Isle of Man TT.

Fastest TT Superbike Lap Record 

The fastest lap in the Superbike class was recorded by Michael Dunlop on June 2, 2024. He clocked in at 16m38.953s with an average speed of 135.970 mph on his Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SC82.

Fastest TT Supersport Lap Record 

In the Supersport class, Michael Dunlop again holds the record with a lap completed in 17m21.605s on June 7, 2023, at an average speed of 130.403 mph, riding a Yamaha YZF-R6.

Fastest TT Supertwin Lap Record 

The Supertwin lap record is also held by Michael Dunlop, who set the benchmark on June 6, 2018, with a time of 18m26.543s, averaging 122.750 mph on a Paton S1-R.

Fastest TT Superstock Lap Record 

Also the outright fastest lap, the Superstock record belongs to Peter Hickman. On June 9, 2023, he completed a lap in 16m36.115s, averaging 136.358 mph aboard a BMW M 1000 RR.

Fastest TT Sidecar Lap Record 

In the Sidecar category, Ben Birchall and Tom Birchall set the record in June 2023 with a time of 18m45.850s, averaging 120.645 mph in an LCR Honda outfit.

1. BMW

BMW leads with the fastest lap ever recorded at the TT. Peter Hickman set this record on June 9, 2023, during the Superstock TT. He completed the 37.73-mile Mountain Course on a BMW M 1000 RR in 16m36.115s, at an average speed of 136.358 mph ​

2. Honda

Honda holds the second-fastest lap. Michael Dunlop achieved this on June 2, 2024, during the Superbike TT, recording a lap time of 16m38.953s at an average speed of 135.970 mph aboard a Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SC82. ​

3. Kawasaki

Kawasaki ranks third. Dean Harrison set a lap time of 16m50.384s at an average speed of 134.432 mph on a Kawasaki ZX-10R during the 2018 Superbike TT.
