Jawbone were also chosen to back Eric Clapton, Van Morrison and Tom Jones at Paul Jones’ legendary charity show at G-Live in Guildford, garnering rave reviews from the artists involved and the sell-out audience alike.
Individually, Jawbone boast an incredible CV, having each played with a hugely impressive roster of music legends, including Tom Jones, Robert Plant, Dave Gilmour, Ginger Baker, Ronnie Wood and Jack Bruce. Indeed, they can all be seen sharing the stage with the big names today, with Marcus fronting the latest version of the legendary blues-rock outfit, Ten Years After, and Paddy continuing to tour with Tom Jones. Indeed, Paddy’s skills are so in demand, that his playing helped soundtrack the Elton John biopic, Rocketman.
Bonfanti and Milner first crossed paths in a North London house share in 2008 forming a close musical bond through a shared love of Blues and Roots music. Rex and Evan shared a similar experience halfway across the world in Perth, Australia before moving to the UK to pursue new musical endeavours. Having then all met each other in-and-around the thriving London music scene, Jawbone was eventually formed.
Named after a song taken from The Band’s famous self-titled album, Jawbone boast a similar organic sound to the Woodstock era group, layering lead vocals and creating seamless harmonies. Also taking influence from the likes of The Rolling Stones and Crosby, Stills & Nash, Jawbone effortlessly mix their eclectic musical tastes to create a modern take on classic Rock ’n’ Roll.
Jawbone will play the main stage in the Classic TT Fan Park on Sunday 30th August as part of the Festival in a Day. The event is free to attend.
