The Mysterines

Who are The Mysterines? Posters with this question surfaced in Liverpool in 2018, casting the young Wirral three-piece in a shroud of mystery. Whilst keeping a relatively-low profile, the band have managed to gather a fair bit of buzz for their impressive, punchy live shows, having supported the likes of Miles Kane and The Amazons.

Tipped in the Radio X Great Xpectations list for 2019, the 3-piece band from The Wirral began their breakthrough year by recording a BBC Introducing session for Steve Lamacq’s 6 Music show. Their spectacular rise continued with the release of the Take Control EP. Penned by the band’s vocalist and guitarist, Lia Metcalfe, and produced by James Skelly (The Coral), the EP expertly captures a band on the edge of something special with 4 tracks that go straight for the jugular.

Indeed, Mysterines songs are fierce, high-energy affairs, all bolstered by Lia’s snarling vocals and underpinned by the relentless bass of George Favager and the pounding drums of Chrissy Moore. Fronting the cover of Spotify’s Hot New Bands playlist, The Mysterines already have that all too rare sound of a fully developed band. It’s no wonder so many working in music believe they are destined for greatness.

The Mysterines will play the main stage in the TT Fan Park on Saturday 30th May as part of the brand new TT Party in the Park. The event is free to attend.
