THE BEST SEAT IN THE HOUSE
There’s nowhere in the world quite like the TT Mountain Course. At 37.73 miles, it’s not only the longest but also one of the most iconic race circuits on the planet. Every corner and straight is steeped in over a century of speed, skill, and courage, capturing the imagination like no other venue.
This legendary course doesn’t run itself however. The Isle of Man TT Races, Manx Grand Prix and Classic TT rely on a dedicated team of volunteers - the marshals, who make racing on these hallowed roads possible.
Whether you’re a lifelong fan, a first-time visitor, or simply someone who loves motorsport, marshalling offers a truly unique way to get closer to the action while giving something back to the sport and the Isle of Man.

Meet like minded people and immerse yourself in the spirit of the races
Marshals are the heartbeat of road racing on the Isle of Man. Known as the “Orange Army” for their distinctive high-vis clothing, they form a close-knit community built on camaraderie, respect, and a shared love of road racing.
Each race session requires at least 600 marshals, with over 275 positions to cover across 12 sectors of the course - highlighting just how vital these volunteers are. Signing up to marshal means joining a big family, one you can be part of this August.
Whether you’re trackside on Bray Hill, at the Mountain Mile, or anywhere in between, you’ll play a crucial role in keeping riders safe and ensuring every session runs smoothly.

NO EXPERIENCE? NO PROBLEM
If you’ve ever thought about marshalling but weren’t sure how to get started, the Classic TT and Manx Grand Prix is the perfect time. Signing up and getting stuck in is simple. Thanks to accessible online training comprising two simple modules, you can be ready to take your place on the course without any prior experience.
Once training is completed, you will be able to select your preferred course location you wish to be placed, and also select the qualifying, race and contingency sessions you are available for. As a Novice Marshal, you will be paired with experienced Marshals by a Chief Sector Marshal closer to the event.
BE REWARDED FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTION
As a marshal, you’ll not only enjoy the thrill of being part of the racing, you’ll also benefit from a range of perks, including:
- Free access to Manx National Heritage sites like the Laxey Wheel and Cregneash
- Discounts at over 50 local businesses, from cafés to attractions
- Access to well-being support and ongoing training opportunities
The newly updated warrant card system for 2025 also means that all marshals, from newcomers to seasoned veterans, are recognised for their role and progression within the team.
It’s a unique way to spend time outdoors, meet like minded people, and immerse yourself in the spirit of the races, while knowing you’re helping to keep the Island’s proud racing tradition alive.
