HICKMAN, TODD AND 8TEN RACING RETURN IN 2026
The 8TEN Racing team of Peter Hickman and Davey Todd will return for a second season in 2026, with the duo contesting both the British Superbike Championship and International road races as the official BMW Motorrad team.
2025 saw the team, co-owned by Hickman and Todd, formed at the 11th hour with bikes still being built on the eve of the races and improvements and changes to the BMW M1000RR continually happening throughout the year. With sponsors also joining on a regular basis, it meant their campaigns on both the short circuits and road races proved to be a mixed and challenging affair.
After scoring points at the first two rounds of the BSB Championship, a heavy crash in practice for the Isle of Man TT Races, caused by a component failure, meant Hickman spent a large proportion of the season on the sidelines leaving Todd to fly the flag single handedly for most of the team’s BSB campaign.
The double Pirelli National Superstock Champion scored points at several rounds with his best performances coming at the penultimate round at Oulton Park. Hickman, meanwhile, rejoined the series at Assen in September and, despite being far from fit, scored his best result of the season at the final round at Brands Hatch.
The International road races proved to be a considerable contrast, with the two riders enjoying great success, starting at the North West 200 where Todd won two Superbike races, including the main event, as well as one of the Superstock encounters. Hickman took three podiums at the Northern Ireland event which set them up perfectly for the TT.
Hickman’s crash unfortunately ruled him out of proceedings, with several injuries sustained, but Todd won the Superbike race before taking a brace of second place finishes behind Dean Harrison in the two Superstock races. The 29-year old then went on to win at both the Southern 100 and Macau Grand Prix, Hickman taking second at the latter as he made his return to the road courses.

Peter Hickman: “I’m really excited about 2026! 2025 was a complete rush for us, especially at the start of the season, but I showed a lot of promise straightaway almost doing a PB at Oulton Park and then equalling my PB at Donington Park despite never having sat on the bike prior to round one. That gave us plenty to build on but I obviously ended up injuring myself quite heavily at the TT, which was a real shame, for many different reasons of course, as I felt the best I’d felt in a long time on a Superbike during practice week. The team worked superbly all season and whilst BSB in particular, is obviously really hard, I'm really looking forward to having a good crack in 2026 with a lot of testing on the bike before we even get to the first round. It's great to have the support of BMW again and being the official team for BSB, the North West 200 and Isle of Man TT is obviously perfect for us.”

Davey Todd: “Like Pete, I can’t wait for the 2026 season to come around with another BSB campaign and all the International road races to look forward too. With the team coming together so late and Pete missing most of the rounds unfortunately, my first full BSB season was certainly a challenge with no team-mate to bounce ideas off, but the whole team worked incredibly hard throughout and it will stand us in good stead next year when we’ll be in a much stronger position. The road races couldn’t have gone any better, winning everywhere we went to, and our reliability record was faultless, so we’ll be looking for more of the same there in 2026. The support from the team and the sponsors was second to none this year and with a full winter testing programme ahead of us, we’re only going to be stronger in 2026.”

Darren Jones, Team Manager: “We’re really excited and looking forward to 2026 after an extremely busy 2025. We had numerous ups and downs, but overall, building a team from scratch in a short space of time and making it to the first BSB round was an achievement in itself. The BSB season was certainly challenging with Pete sadly missing for much of the campaign and Davey having his first full season in the class, but he got increasingly comfortable and made improvements throughout. With a full season of winter testing planned and more support from BMW, I’m sure we’ll hit the ground running and be in a better position this time around.”
“On the roads, we took wins and podiums at every meeting we entered last year which was testament to the whole team. We’ve already started building the Superbike and Superstock machines for the road races, which will stand us in good stead and put us in a great position. We couldn’t have got through 2025 without our loyal sponsors and suppliers so a big thanks to them, especially BMW Motorrad for their continued trust and support and having our back all the way.”
