Harrison will move into the Superbike class in the British Championships, providing valuable additional track time on the 2027 Fireblade ahead of the international road racing season. The opportunity to develop the new machine across a range of circuits will form an important part of his preparation for the unique demands of the TT Course, where confidence, consistency and a thorough understanding of the machinery are essential.

The combination of McGuinness’s experience and Harrison’s pace has proven to be an excellent partnership.

The combination of McGuinness’s experience and Harrison’s pace has proven to be an excellent partnership, with both riders playing an important role in the continued development and success of Honda Racing UK’s road racing programme. Both riders bring different strengths to the programme, with their combined knowledge providing valuable input into the development of the new Fireblade and the preparation required to compete at the highest level on the roads.

Scott Hargreaves, Honda Racing UK Team Manager, said:

“Dean and John did a fantastic job representing Honda Racing in 2026. Dean’s success was a highlight for the whole team and John’s experience, commitment and consistent performance are something we really value.

“Having those two riders come together to build the perfect new Fireblade for road racing gives us the assurance that we can be competitive from day one and enjoy our racing. We have a formidable rider line-up in all classes next year and I’m confident we’ll have a great year.”

John McGuinness MBE said: “I’m really pleased that I’m staying with Honda for 2027. We were fast in 2026 and if the weather had played ball at the TT, we’d have had more seat time. It wasn’t to be though, so to be heading back as teammate to Dean and with an all-new bike to race is fantastic.”

Dean Harrison said: “My performance at the TT in 2026 was, in my opinion, the strongest I’ve ever been. The confidence that gives me for next year should not be underestimated. I have no worries at all about developing the new Fireblade to suit my style and I can’t wait to see how we cope with the demands of a new bike. My crew chief Stew Millen and our data man Bob Grey are excellent, we work really well together and I know that we’ll be in a good place.

“Having John as a teammate only improves our outlook for 2027. I think we work really well together and I’m proud to share the awning with him again. Aside from being mates, there’s a lot of experience to make use of from both of us. This lifts the mood in the Honda camp and we all benefit from feeling positive.”

With a new Fireblade and two established TT winners, Honda Racing UK will head into 2027 with a clear ambition to build on its recent Mountain Course success. The partnership between McGuinness and Harrison provides continuity, experience and proven winning ability as Honda Racing UK prepares for another campaign at the Isle of Man TT Races.
