JOEY THOMPSON JOINS TH RACING FOR SUPERSPORT AND SPORTBIKE CLASSES

The 28-year-old from York will compete on a 2025 specification Honda CBR600RR in the Monster Energy Supersport TT races, along with an Aprilia RS660 in the Sportbike class as part of TH Racing’s supported campaign. Both machines will be prepared and run with full team backing as the focus remains firmly on consistency and progression in 2026.

The Honda CBR600RR provides a proven Supersport package as Thompson targets further improvements in one of the TT’s most competitive categories, whilst strengthening the team’s presence on the Aprilia RS660 in the Sportbike class. This adds to Yorkshireman’s previously confirmed 1000cc campaign with Team York Suzuki, where he will contest the RST Superbike, RL360 Superstock and Milwaukee Senior TT races.

Joey Thompson secured a career-best 13th place in the Supersport class at the 2025 Isle of Man TT.

Joey’s strongest result to date came with a 13th-place finish in a Supersport race last year, marking a career-best performance and underlining clear progression in the class. Entering his seventh TT, the emphasis is on consolidating experience and translating it into further improvements in 2026.

Preparations will include outings at the North West 200, and other selected events, ensuring competitive mileage before returning to the Island.

TH Racing Management said: “We are delighted to have agreed terms with Joey for the 2026 season. Having worked with him in the past and more recently at the tail end of this season, we are fully aware of his pedigree. Having seen his transition to the CBR600RR and the RS660 this season, it was very evident that he had what we wanted and we are very excited for 2026.”

Thompson added: “I am so pleased to have put pen to paper this early on. It really gives me time to focus and prepare for a very busy season with TH Racing. I would just like to thank the team for making me feel so welcome, and I cannot wait to get stuck in, especially now I feel I have my mojo back.”
