JOEY THOMPSON RETURNS WITH TEAM YORK SUZUKI FOR HIS 7TH TT
The Yorkshireman will line up for Team York Suzuki by Motul Oils/Talk of the Town in the RST Superbike TT, RL360 Superstock TT and Milwaukee Senior TT races aboard a GSX-R1000, a bike that provides the team with a stable and reliable base as they target continued progression in the 1000cc classes.
Thompson made his TT debut in 2017 aged just 19 and has since accumulated 21 race starts. His debut in the big bike categories came in 2022 and he has made significant strides around the Mountain Course in recent years, demonstrating improved pace, race management and composure.
His best lap to date stands at 125.415mph, recorded during the Milwaukee Senior Race in 2024, underlining his growing competitiveness. To date, he has secured two Silver and three Bronze replicas, reflecting consistent top-20 performances as he continues to build experience against some of the strongest fields in the modern TT era.

Joey and Team York Suzuki continue to progress together in the 1000cc classes.
Entering his seventh Isle of Man TT, the emphasis is firmly on consolidating that progress and translating experience into stronger results across all classes.
Kevin Pearson, Team Manager, said:
“I can speak on behalf of the whole team in saying how pleased we are that Joey has agreed to pilot the GSX-R once again for us in 2026.
Joey has shown maturity, professionalism and commitment both on and off the bike. Everybody involved in the team has raced themselves, so we understand what it takes just to pull your leathers on. Together, we’re confident he can build on his previous results.”
Thompson added:
“I really enjoy working with the team at York Suzuki. They give me the opportunity and tools to go racing in a pressure-free environment, allowing me to enjoy myself and just focus on my riding.
“The Suzuki has proven its reliability, finishing all the races we’ve started on it. For 2026, I have no big expectations. I just want to go out there and enjoy riding the best course in the world.”
With established, reliable machinery and continuity within the team, combined with Thompson’s seven years of TT experience, 2026 presents a significant opportunity for continued progression on the Mountain Course.
