KTS RACING CONFIRM HERBERTSON FOR 1000CC RACES AT TT 2026

KTS RACING CONFIRM HERBERTSON FOR 1000CC RACES AT TT 2026

Having previously announced their plans for the Supersport class at this year’s Isle of Man TT, KTS Racing have announced today that Dominic Herbertson will also contest the 1000cc races for them at this year’s event, adding to his previously announced Supersport programme.

The Northumberland rider will line up on the ex-Josh Brookes BMW M1000RR in the RST Superbike TT, RL360 Superstock TT and Milwaukee Senior TT races. 34-year old Herbertson is no stranger to the BMW, having ridden for the German manufacturer around the Mountain Course between 2022 and 2024 initially on the S1000RR model.

Since 2022, Herbertson has recorded 18 top ten finishes.

Herbertson has become one of the most consistent front-runners of the modern TT era. Since 2022, he has recorded 18 top ten finishes. In the 1000cc classes, he took eighth and tenth in the 2022 Superstock and Superbike races respectively, followed by eighth and ninth in the same races in 2023, the latter equalling his best Superbike result at the time.

Switching to the Burrows Engineering/RK Racing team in 2024, Herbertson debuted the BMW M1000RR at the TT. Although he retired from both the Superbike and Senior races, he secured ninth in the Superstock race and broke the 130mph lap barrier for the first time.

A late change of plans in 2025 saw him run his own Honda team, recording further 130mph laps in the Superbike race. He again excelled in the Superstock class with eighth and ninth-place finishes, improving his personal best lap to 131.182mph and moving to 17th on the all-time fastest riders list.

Away from the 1000cc machinery, Herbertson underlined his pedigree with podium finishes in the Supertwin class in both 2024 and 2025, reinforcing his status as one of the leading contenders across multiple categories.

Kevin Watret, Team Principal, KTS Racing:
“Over the last few years, Dom has shown he is capable of running consistently inside the top ten in the big bike races. With the BMW M1000RR and our team experience, we believe we have the package he needs to improve further and challenge the top six in the Superbike, Superstock, and Senior races. The aim is to build steadily through practice and give him the confidence to get straight up to speed on the Mountain Course”

Dominic Herbertson:
“I’m really pleased to be doing the big bike races with Kevin and the KTS team. We have a strong package across the board, and the BMW is a bike that gives me confidence around the Mountain Course. The goal is to keep building, improve again on my personal best laps and push further into the top ten in all races.”

The expanded programme positions Herbertson for his most comprehensive TT campaign to date, combining proven BMW 1000cc performance with factory-supported Triumph Supersport machinery. With consistency already established and lap speeds continuing to rise, the 2026 entry represents a significant step forward in his pursuit of top-six finishes at the Isle of Man TT.
