RST LAUNCHES ‘TEAMRST’ LED BY IAN HUTCHINSON AHEAD OF 2026 TT

With less than 80 days  to go until the flag drops on the RST Superbike race, today RST have announced they will field their own official team ahead of the 2026 Isle of Man TT, with 16-time TT winner Ian Hutchinson spearheading TeamRST’s debut campaign. Contesting the RST Superbike TT, RL360 Superstock TT and Milwaukee Senior TT races with the focus of being competitive from the outset, on the Mountain Course.

Hutchinson, from Bingley, West Yorkshire, is one of the most accomplished riders in TT history. A 16-time race winner on the Mountain Course, he famously achieved five victories in a single week in 2010,  a record that underlines his pedigree at the event. With extensive experience across Superbike and Superstock classes, and a proven ability to perform under the unique demands of the TT, he brings both technical insight and race-winning capability to the project.

Ian Hutchinson is the only TT rider to ever achieve a momentous 5-in-a-week

The entry marks the first time RST has operated its own team at the TT, representing a significant milestone for the brand. As the Official Safety Partner of the Isle of Man TT Races, RST has long been embedded within the paddock, supplying protective equipment to competitors. As RST continues to innovate in rider protection and performance apparel, entering its own TT team reinforces its position at the heart of road racing’s most demanding arena.

TeamRST’s project is supported by an established group of performance partners including Arai,, D3O, Motul who will contribute to the development of the machines, rider equipment and performance infrastructure required to compete at the highest level of TT racing.

Ian Hutchinson said: “This project is very personal to me. After everything I’ve experienced at the TT, I still have that drive to prove we can compete at the very front. Everyone involved has come on this journey with me, and I want it to work for all of us. We’re aiming for that top spot  and I want everyone to get something out of this.”

Stuart Millington, VP of RST added: “Launching TeamRST is a defining moment for our brand. We’re doing this with one goal, giving Ian the package he needs to win at this years Isle of Man TT. We have been working with Ian for over 15 years. Ian is one of the most accomplished and determined competitors in TT history, and his experience makes him the perfect rider to lead this project.”

RST will produce a dedicated TeamRST documentary series following Hutchinson’s and the team’s preparation for the 2026 TT. The series will provide behind-the-scenes access to machine build, technical development, testing and the logistical demands of preparing for the Mountain Course, which will also be featured on the TT’s free to watch digital streaming platform, TT+.
