RUSSELL RACING BACK WITH MIKE BROWNE FOR A THIRD SUCCESSIVE YEAR IN 2026

Russell Racing by Boyce Precision Engineering have renewed their partnership with Mike Browne for a third successive year at the Isle of Man TT Races.

The Northern Ireland-based team will make a notable change for the two Monster Energy Supersport TT races, with Browne set to line up on one of the next-generation Yamaha YZF-R9 machines, replacing his more familiar Yamaha YZF-R6. Introduced to the World Supersport Championship in 2025, the R9 will make its debut on the TT Course, offering a potentially more competitive package in the class.

In addition to their Supersport campaign, Russell Racing will broaden its presence across the 1000cc races, the RST Superbike TT, both RL360 Superstock TT races, and the Milwaukee Senior TT. Browne will contest these aboard a new 2026 Honda Fireblade CBR1000RR, adding further depth to the team’s 2026 effort.

The continued progression reflects both the team’s growing ambition and their confidence in Browne’s ability to deliver strong results across all classes on the Mountain Course. Having established a solid foundation together since first linking up in 2024, the programme for 2026 represents a clear step forward in both scale and intent.

Since making his Mountain Course debut at the 2019 Manx Grand Prix, Irishman Browne has rapidly established himself as one of the most capable all-round road racers in the field. His TT highlights include a second-place finish in the opening Supertwin race in 2023, followed by third in the second race in 2024. He also boasts three victories in the Classic Races at Manx Grand Prix.

Browne has demonstrated consistency across multiple classes, recording seventh-place finishes in the Supersport TT races in both 2024 and 2025, with a best lap of 126.858mph in the category. In the 1000cc classes, he has secured four top ten finishes and set the fastest-ever lap for Aprilia around the Mountain Course.

His strongest result on the big bikes came with sixth place in the Senior TT, where he set a personal best lap of 130.872mph. He also lapped in excess of 130mph in 2025 when stepping in as a late replacement for the injured Jamie Coward on the KTS Racing BMW M1000RR.

Mike Browne said: “I’m really pleased to be continuing with Russell Racing. We’ve built a great relationship over the last couple of years, and the programme for 2026 is a big step. The R9 is an exciting prospect, and having competitive machinery across all classes gives us a solid platform to push for results.”

Team Owner Alister Russell added: “The TT is the focal point for us, and this year’s programme reflects how seriously we’re taking it. Mike has the experience and the pace to deliver across every class, and we’re confident the package we’ve put together will allow us to keep moving forward.

The team’s growing commitment and continued investment show just how seriously they take the Isle of Man TT Races, with a clear ambition to be competitive across multiple classes.
