REVISED SCHEDULE: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

REVISED SCHEDULE: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The racing programme has been brought forward to make the best use of the favourable conditions currently forecast through Tuesday. The event has not been declared over after Tuesday, and the forecast will continue to be reviewed.

Why has the schedule changed?

Following detailed consideration of the latest specialist weather forecast, the Race Organiser has substantially revised the remaining Manx Grand Prix and Classic TT programme. Conditions are currently expected to deteriorate significantly from Wednesday onwards. Moving the racing forward provides the strongest available opportunity to complete the programme during the more favourable conditions forecast between Saturday and Tuesday.

Who made the decision?

The decision has been made by the Race Organiser after considering specialist meteorological advice and the relevant safety, medical, marshalling, road-closure and operational requirements.

Why make the change now rather than wait?

Waiting until Wednesday would risk losing the remaining racing opportunities after the forecast deterioration had already arrived. Acting now provides competitors, teams, marshals, residents, partners and visitors with as much notice as possible and allows the event to use the more favourable period currently available.

Does this mean all racing will definitely be completed by Tuesday?

No. The revised programme provides the best available opportunity to complete the remaining races, but every session remains subject to weather, course conditions and the Race Organiser's established safety and operational requirements. Sessions may still be delayed, shortened, moved or cancelled where necessary.

The revised programme

What is taking place on Saturday 22 August?

Roads close at 09:30. Classic TT qualifying begins at 10:15, followed by the three-lap Sportbike Manx Grand Prix at 11:45. A further Classic TT qualifying lap begins at 13:45, followed by the four-lap Supersport Manx Grand Prix at 14:45 and the two-lap Historic Junior Classic TT at 16:45. Roads reopen no later than 21:00.

What is taking place on Sunday 23 August?

Roads close at 12:45. The three-lap Formula One Classic TT begins at 13:30, followed by the three-lap Lightweight and Ultra Lightweight Classic TT at 15:30. Roads reopen no later than 18:00.

What is taking place on Monday 24 August?

Roads close at 09:30. The three-lap Junior Manx Grand Prix begins at 10:15, followed by the four-lap Senior Manx Grand Prix at 12:15 and the three-lap Historic Senior Classic TT at 14:45. Roads reopen no later than 16:30. Roads then close again at 18:00 for the two-lap Junior 600 Classic TT at 18:30, reopening no later than 21:00.

What is taking place on Tuesday 25 August?

Roads close at 09:30. The four-lap Senior Classic TT begins at 10:15. The one-lap TT Rewind and Classic Sidecar Parade follows at 12:30, with the one-lap John McGuinness MBE Parade at 13:45. Roads reopen no later than 17:00.

Why have the Historic Junior and Junior 600 races been reduced to two laps?

The race distances have been revised to create a deliverable programme within the available course time while maintaining appropriate operational margins. All activity remains subject to the Race Organiser's safety and operational requirements.

Wednesday to Friday

Does the Classic TT now finish on Tuesday?

The competitive racing programme is currently planned to be completed by Tuesday, but the Classic TT remains scheduled through Friday. The weather forecast will continue to be monitored and an expanded off-track programme is being developed for the remainder of the week if further course activity is not possible.

Could there still be course activity from Wednesday onwards?

Yes, but only if there is a material improvement in the forecast and the required operational and road-closure arrangements can be put in place. The revised schedule reflects the best information available today. Any further changes will be communicated at the earliest opportunity.

What will happen if the weather improves later in the week?

The Race Organiser will review the forecast continuously. If conditions improve materially, further adaptations may be made and additional available periods may be used. Minor changes between individual forecasts will not automatically result in another schedule change.

What will happen around the event if racing is completed on Tuesday?

The Classic TT will endeavour to provide an expanded programme of off-track activity throughout the remainder of the week. Centred around the Mercury Club, home of the John McGuinness MBE Museum, this may include rider and team appearances, chat shows, live podcasts, interviews and other Classic TT activity. Details will be published as arrangements are confirmed.

Visitors, residents and customers

How will road closures be affected?

The revised programme includes substantive road closures on Sunday and Tuesday (which are currently scheduled contingency days), together with a split daytime and evening closure on Monday (roads will open between 1700hrs and 1800hrs). Residents, businesses and visitors should check the confirmed closing and reopening times carefully before travelling.

Where can I find the latest road-closure information?

The latest confirmed information will be published through the official Classic TT and Manx Grand Prix channels. Always check the most recent update before beginning a journey, as the programme remains subject to weather and operational conditions.

Should visitors change their travel or accommodation arrangements?

That is a matter for each visitor and their travel or accommodation provider. The racing programme is currently planned to conclude by Tuesday, but the event continues through Friday, an additional off-track programme is being developed, and later course activity remains possible if the forecast improves materially. Visitors should check the applicable amendment or cancellation terms before making changes.

Will the paddock, museum and other event facilities remain open?

The intention is for the Classic TT to remain active throughout the scheduled event period, subject to weather, operational requirements and individual venue arrangements. Confirmed opening times and additional activities will be published through the official channels.

Where should competitors and teams obtain instructions?

Competitors and teams should rely only on official Race Office bulletins, the established competitor communications channels and instructions issued by the Race Organiser. Public schedules do not replace competitor-specific instructions.

Where will further updates be published?

Updates will be issued through the official Classic TT and Manx Grand Prix websites and social channels, together with the established competitor and event information services. Please check that the information you are viewing carries the latest published time and date.

All times and activities remain subject to weather, course conditions, operational readiness and the Race Organiser's instructions. Spectators, residents, competitors and teams should continue to monitor official updates throughout the event.
