Pierre Yves Bian Isle of Man TT Races Rider Profile

Pierre Yves-Bian

Frenchman Pierre Yves-Bian made his name in the International Road Racing Championship finishing sixth overall in 2018 before winning the title three years later when he won five of the eight races held.

With victories and podiums at the likes of Hengelo, Chimay and Horice, it was inevitable the Mountain Course would be on his radar, and he showed his credentials at the Manx Grand Prix in 2019 when he led the Newcomers race from start to finish.

Pierre made his move to the Isle of Man TT Races when racing resumed in 2022 and he immediately impressed with sixth place in the second Supertwin race. Having also finished second at the North West 200, his road racing progression continued at pace. His results that year brought him to the attention of Peter Hickman, who’s run him in the Monster Energy Supersport TT Races since 2023 on the K2 Trooper Beer by PHR Triumph.

However, it’s the Supertwin class where he’s excelled at the TT the most. Bian finished fourth on the VAS Engine Racing Paton in 2022, and then made history in 2023 when second place, ironically to Hickman, in the second race saw him become the first French rider to finish on a solo TT podium. With three top six finishes in the class, he’s now firmly knocking on the door of a maiden TT win.
