VICTOR LOPEZ
A mainstay at the Manx Grand Prix since finishing eighth in the 2015 Newcomers race, the Spaniard received good support from the highly professional Martimotos team and put it to good use with a string of fine results.
Accomplished on both the Supersport and Supertwin machines, several top ten finishes were recorded before he set up his own team and 2022 saw him set his first 120mph+ lap of the Mountain Course when he finished fifth in the Senior race.
Sixth in the corresponding race was taken a year later as he exercised caution in the damp, but he fully utilised the use of the ILR Paton to win the Junior race, the first Spaniard ever to win a race on the Mountain Course. With his pace comparable to that of top ten finishers at the TT, he lapped at more than 117mph on the Paton and was hopeful of making his TT debut in 2024 only for a lack of suitable machinery to rule him out. Undeterred, he’s back on the entry list in 2025 and should enjoy a strong maiden TT appearance where he’ll line up for Martimotos once more in the Supersport class and Ian Lougher’s Team ILR squad for the two Supertwin races.
