30 YEARS OF JOHN MCGUINNESS MBE: A SPECIAL EDITION OF BETWEEN THE HEDGES

Thirty years after a young John McGuinness arrived on the Isle of Man as a TT newcomer, Between the Hedges looks back on one of the most significant careers in the event’s history. 
 
Featuring contributions from Davey Todd, Peter Hickman, Dean Harrison, Clive Padgett and John McGuinness himself, the special episode explores the moments, achievements and qualities that have helped define his three decades around the Mountain Course. 
 
From his emergence as a major force in the early 2000s, to becoming the first rider to lap the TT course at more than 130mph, the feature reflects on the milestones that cemented his place among road racing’s most accomplished competitors. 
 
The episode also examines another side of McGuinness’ legacy: his longevity. More than 30 years after making his TT debut, and following 23 TT victories, he remains a competitive presence at the front of the field, continuing to challenge against a new generation of riders.  
Through personal memories and reflections from those who have raced with him, worked alongside him and followed his journey, this special edition of Between the Hedges provides a look at the career of a rider whose impact on the modern TT era extends far beyond the results sheet.
